Overview of Role

Halfway VW Soweto has a vacancy for a Dealer Principal. The successful candidate will be required to assume accountability for the effective senior management of the dealership. The candidate will be accountable for the effective management of finances, key stakeholder engagements, sales and aftersales, compliance, and people development.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the dealership meets financial growth targets, as per the agreed budget for the dealership.
• Establish and maintain relationships with relevant strategic stakeholders.
• Develop an annual competitive strategy in consultation with managers, through key drivers (financial, marketing, customer experience, LEAN [Operational Efficiencies], and people development), with quarterly progress checks.
• Accountable for adherence to all relevant regulatory, legislative and industry requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Accountable for the close-out of all audit findings.
• Accountable for the management of staff engagement, motivation and alignment.
• Accountable to lead excellence in sales, aftersales, finance, and administration.
• Accountable to lead strategic projects for the dealership.
• Accountable for meeting all relevant organisational perfomance targets (sales, CE, aftersales).
• Ensure effective monthly reporting for EXCO (as per agreed template and metrics).
• Ensure the recruitment, succession and retention of the right staff to support the teams' performance.

Qualification

• Matric
• Relevant Degree or equivalent experience
• Drivers License

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years Dealer Principal or at least 10 years vehicle sales management experience, preferably within a VW dealership.
